Grammy voting closed yesterday, so now the only thing left to do is to wait until Jan. 31st and for people to predict who they think will win.
Billboard decided to look at 24 x Grammy winner Beyonce's chances of winning and where that will place her in the history books. Beyonce leads all nominees with 9 nominations. Per Billboard, if Bey wins 4, she will be the female artist with the most Grammy wins. If she pulls off 5 wins, she will pass Quincy Jones and become the living artist with the most Grammy wins. If she can win 8 Grammys in ONE night, she will be the artist with the most Grammy wins...PERIODT.
Y'all do know that if accomplished, this will all be done during Beyonce's offseason.
Below is what Billboard predicts will happen, and I am sure their relationship to voters helps with these predictions.
Record of the Year - Savage Remix & Black Parade
Bey has two chances to win in this category. I do not know how Black Parade was nominated, except that it was more of the Academy's way of rewarding those artists not aiming for the charts.
Anyways, if Beyonce does win, it will be her first win in this category. I was shocked to learn this.
Billboard predicts she will get that first win with SAVAGE!
What I like about this possible win for Bey is that this is a song she demanded...Oops, I mean requested. She did not wait for Megan to ask for a collab. Beyonce knew Megan wanted one, and she knew that she needed to have another hit since her other stuff doesn't do it anymore. It's the knowing you are that bitch, but not having an ego about yourself for me.
Song of the Year- Black Parade
Billboard predicts Billie Eilish will win. I'm not a fan of Black Parade, so ...
Best R&B Performance - Black Parade
Billboard calls this an easy win for Beyonce. I prefer Jhene Aiko.
Best R&B Song - Black Parade
Billboard calls this another easy win for Beyonce. She is predicted to beat out her proteges Chloe x Halle.
Best Rap Performance - Savage Remix
Billboard has Savage as the winner. But, there is tough competition by Lil Baby's overhyped BLM anthem "Bigger Picture," Pop Smoke, and Nipsey.
Best Rap Song - Savage Remix
Billboard has Roddy Ricch "The Box" and Lil Baby's "Bigger Picture" with the edge over Savage Remix.
Best Music Video - Brown Skin Girl
If Beyonce wins this category, she will follow in Janet Jackson's footsteps by being the second artist to win twice. Bey previously won for Formation.
Billboard predicts she will be like Janet.
Best Music Film - Black Is King
Billboard predicts Bey will lose out to Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice
So, Billboard is predicting a big night for Beyonce with 5 wins. If she also performs, this could go down as one of the best Grammy nights ever. A Black woman once again dominating the night. We saw it with Lauryn Hill and with Beyonce in 2010.
*Megan Thee Stallion could walk away with 2 Grammys as a lead artist.
UPDATE: 1/5 11:45 AM PST
Rolling Stone announced the Grammys will be postponed due to COVID-19 concerns. Eyeing March ceremony.
