Ever since WAP, a particular STAN group has been sitting around creating false narratives about Megan Thee Stallion. It's the jealousy for me. For the most part, I have ignored it. However, when people start trying to use my comment section to spread those lies, and content creators start using their bullshit for clicks, I gotta say something. We all know that if you allow people to repeat a lie often enough, it will eventually become the truth.
Also, I hate that one of my fave Hip Hop moments is being twisted into something negative.
THE LIE: Megan Thee Stallion is fake for doing WAP with Cardi B because she shaded her on Instagram Live with Nicki Minaj.
IT'S THE HYPOCRISY FOR ME
Megan NEVER says a name. This false narrative requires someone to stop the video at a specific point and then ADD Cardi B's name in order to push this lie. If anyone thinks that Cardi B is the ONLY female rapper who does not write, you have not paid attention. In an interview prior to the Nicki Minaj Live, Megan spoke about being shocked at how many rappers really don't write. She was not speaking on the obvious, which is Cardi B.
STANs inserting Cardi B's name AFTER they found out about WAP is no different than people INSERTING Nicki Minaj's name into Cardi B's red carpet story. There were other female rappers on the red carpet, but people NEEDED it to be Nicki Minaj because that pushed the narrative they wanted. Just like these STANs WANT to find a reason to justify their newfound hate for Megan. It's the hypocrisy for me.
WHAT IF MEG WAS SHADING CARDI B?
Let's say that Megan Thee Stallion was ONLY referring to Cardi B. What about it? Let's not act like before, and after that IG Live, there were not post popping up of Cardi B liking shady comments about Megan. Some real and some fake. The Bardi gang is no different than Nicki STANs. They sit around talking shit and making up lies about any female rapper who they view as a threat to their Queen. Cardi B is known for being very active and messy on her STAN-pages.
If Megan felt some type of way and heard some stuff behind the scenes, so be it. Megan is allowed to clapback and shade those who cross her the same way Cardi and Nicki do.
I also find it hard to believe that a group that pushed a lie that Cardi B raped men really care if Megan shaded Cardi over writing rhymes. I don't fck with Ole Girl, but I never pushed that trash narrative. It was wrong on so many levels. Considering what is going on now...again, it's the hypocrisy for me.
GROWN WOMAN SHIT
Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B have both spoken on how the WAP collab came together. Their STYLISTS got them together. They spent the day feeling each other out. Only after Megan felt comfortable with Cardi B did she do a song with her.
There was no doing HGS and then immediately jumping to do a song with Cardi B. Another LIE made up by those who don't believe in timelines.
So if Megan and Cardi B got together and squashed any issues they may have had or cleared up, any STAN created drama; that is called being GROWN WOMEN. That is called putting the BAG before DRAMA. That is not Megan being fake towards Nicki by working with Cardi B.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
Stop using that beautiful Hip Hop moment between two talented Black women to soothe your insecurities. Megan is not fake for doing WAP the same way Mulatto, who was in the WAP video, is not fake for being the biggest Barbz right now.
Megan Thee Stallion was co-signing female rappers pushing their pen and telling everyone to stop playing with Nicki Minaj. That does not mean she cannot work with Cardi B or any other rapper she wants. Once you work with Nicki Minaj you do not sign your career over to her. In the same way, Lil Kim did not have any ownership over Nicki's career.
