This is why Drake was in Marcy Projects.
Another two for one song. I like the second half better.
Let me actually critique these tracks since the majority of Hip Hop media rather be Drake's friend than to do their jobs. I swear if other rappers got the synchronized Rhythm Nation 1814 "critique" Drake gets, they all could do his numbers.
THE GOOD: CHICAGO FREESTYLE
Is this the greatest freestyle I have heard from Drake...no, but Giveon's singing and the Eminem "Superman" interpolation make the track for me. I do find it funny people are now Eminem fans after all the bashing he gets. I also question the "homage" angle people are running with because Drake interpolated Eminem. Drake has done this in the past. If other rappers did this, it could be seen as a lazy way to get through a rap song. Putting all that aside, this is a solid freestyle. Drake is talking about his fave topic...women/relationship or lack thereof.
THE BAD - WHEN TO SAY WHEN
The problem I have with this track is the same problem I have with Behind Barz, War, and whatever the song he has with Fivio Foreign (READ HERE). He has done this song before and this song is not better than the first time he did it. This song is a watered-down EMOTIONLESS from his Scorpion album. I am not a fan of the Scorpion album, but I am of Emotionless.
Drake is reselling fans the same songs over and over again. If he was somehow making the songs better than I may give him a pass, but he is not. Drake is seeing what songs fans like and is recreating them. Someone call Quentin Miller up.
