HOW MEGAN THEE STALLION CAN WIN HER CONTRACT DISPUTE

For The Record with Rob Markman discussed Megan Thee Stallion's contract dispute with entertainment lawyer Tiffany Ballard. Tiffany gave her legal opinion based on the available information circulating on social media. One of the specific things Tiffany spoke on was the royalties percentage splits that Megan allegedly is getting per sites like DJ Booth.

A legal expert dives into Megan's dispute with 1501 Certified, unpacking royalty splits, hidden costs, and Carl Crawford's alleged ignorance. Plus, is J Prince a help or hindrance? Find out if Megan's getting ripped off or if the truth is more complicated.

Tiffany explained that if Megan Thee Stallion is paying for third party expenses out of her cut then she is not really getting the splits that DJ Booth and others are claiming. Tiffany also said she does not believe that Carl Crawford knows what is in the contract himself. I do not think Carl Crawford intentionally tried to play Megan, but due to his ignorance ended up making contractual mistakes. Instead of fixing it, he got J Prince, who is making things worse.

ELEMENTS OF A LEGAL CONTRACT

  • OFFER

  • CONSIDERATION

  • ACCEPTANCE

  • MUTUALITY - The contracting parties had “a meeting of the minds” regarding the agreement. This means the parties understood and agreed to the basic substance and terms of the contract.

Megan may be able to get out of this contract if it can be proven there was no meeting of the minds. Carl Crawford has already done interviews talking about how he was new and was learning the business from T-Farris. He admitted there were a couple of mistakes in the contract. Carl Crawford as the CEO cannot pawn off mistakes on to those he empowered to do business on his behalf. The buck stops with him.
