Yesterday, Lil Wayne interviewed with Brett Beris on Instagram Live. Brett asked Lil Wayne what he would be doing if he were not making music, and Wayne said he would be a teacher. This question led to Lil Wayne's role in the success of Nicki Minaj and Drake.
He asked Wayne if it is just as good a feeling to help somebody, like Nicki Minaj and Drake, if it feels just as good as his own music. Lil Wayne's response was:
"Oh, probably better, bruh. Probably better. To know that I had a part of what's going on with Nicki and Drake and anyone." Lil Wayne describes it as "a seed you only have to water once, and it never stops growing."
Wayne is the prime example of why artists should help others get on. He can live off of Nicki and Drake's legacy for the rest of his career. That is why he was in no rush to stop skateboarding all those years.
Lil Wayne goes on to say that there is no such thing as the next Drake or next Nicki.
