Meek is out here tweeting bullsh*t...again
Meek has the audacity to tweet about "slave contracts" when he just did an interview with Charlamagne the God where he said, "we lock'n them in,
we doing it like record labels do." Well, if Meek is doing it like record labels do, why should artists sign with him? Is Meek trying to tell artists that it's better to be signed to a slave contract by a Black executive than a white executive? Tell me this is not what you are saying, Meekiana.
Meek currently has around 15 artists signed. The one artist we know about is because of a beef with Blueface.
Yes, Meek can probably put some money in the artist's pockets, but can he help a rapper's career??? That is still in question. If he wants to put money in people's pockets, hire them as bodyguards, weed rollers, or assistants. Don't make promises to rappers, so you can say you signed rappers.
Is Meek trying to create his own OVO sweatshop? Signing artists, so he can have an in-house team to help his career. We know he no longer has issues with rappers using ghostwriters.
The only way it benefits rappers to sign with Meek is if they can own their masters and publishing. Since Meek is against "slave contracts," I would think that is the case when you sign with Dreamchaser??? But since he never talks about the real sh*t and only offers up "My Brotha's keeper" bullsh*t marketing tweets, who knows.
FEMALE ARTISTS BEWARE
If you are a woman, you probably should avoid signing with Meek. Remember Melii? She had a huge buzz going until she fell out with Meek. Melii was being promoted as Meek's artists, she was on his album, and went on tour with him. However, Melii did not finish the tour among allegations of being put in "uncomfortable situations." I mean EEOC types of situations. She posted this on Instagram.
Let's not forget that Meek was mentored by the fake Rick Ross. This is a man who famously said he does not sign women to his label because he would have to fck them.
Instead of there being a real discussion about Melii's allegations, she received backlash. Even though she did end up signing with Torey Lanez, I do believe she is being blackballed. We know who sponsors Meek. If you make Meek look bad, you make this person look bad.
