MEGAN THEE STALLION & OLE GIRL "WAP" MUSIC VIDEO REACTION

The highly hyped music video from Ole girl and Megan Thee Stallion, WAP, premiered tonight. The song samples Frank Ski's "Whores In This House," and is produced by Ayo & Keyz.

OVERALL OPINION:

THE SONG:

The song is basically what I thought it would be...MID and it kinds of sounds like something she has done before. There is nothing catchy about the song and the way they used the sample...what a fckn waste. The sample actually got lost in this mess. This song seemed like something Ole Girl was forced to put out because she needed to get back on the scene. They added Megan for the hype.

I will say that Megan stood out. She is a fck'n rapper and you can't deny that. She has the right voice and rap style that commands attention. But, when the song switches back to Ole Girl, who just is not a good rapper, it makes the song uneven. Meg has those caption lyrics so she did what she needed to do.

THE VIDEO:

The video was a disappointment. How you have Bey's choreographer and the dancing be forgettable, especially after hyping how long y'all worked on it in the chat tonight? Did all the hard work get edited out? You have Rubi Rose, Mulatto, Suki, and Normani, but Kylie Jenner gets the biggest cameo spot???? The girls were not used how I expected for a "women empowerment" song. Overall it was boring.

I expected to kinda like this, but I really don't. This is not about me not liking Ole Girl as a person, it's just she can't rap and the song is not that memorable.

I gave the song a chance for Megan. With that being said, can she snatch her verse back?

Spotify boy is out here promoting like crazy. I don't why a playlist curator needs to promote a song. Isn't putting the song on the playlist the promotion????

Do not engage in the faux debate on feminism on Twitter over this song. It's a ploy to get people to talk about the songs. It's too ridiculous.

Oh, and y'all need to lay off Meg. Meg did what a Princess of Rap does and that is jumping on a track and outshine the main artist. It's just one feature of many she will have. No one has a perfect feature catalog.
