Megan Thee Stallion, who has become the #1 target for attacks within the culture, found herself facing serious accusations after launching her very successful clothing line with Fashion Nova.
The collection consisted of 106 pieces and had sizes to fit those other "Stallions." It ended up raking in 1.2 million in sales in the first 24 hours. However, not everyone was celebrating Megan Thee Stallion's success.
YOU STOLE MY DESIGN, SIS
Some Black female designers accused Megan of stealing their design ideas for her collection. One designer, TheKaiWay, claimed she had been emailing Megan's team for over a year with pictures asking Megan to promote.
I can see a clear difference between the jackets, and I think TheKaiWay's jacket looks better. I also know this type of design is not new. If she has a problem with Megan, plenty of designers can have a problem with her. This felt too much like Lil Kim, thinking she owns colored wigs to me.
Another designer, Sonya Bees, felt Meg's "Big Ole Freak" set looked similar to her signature clothing. It does look similar, but not a direct copy and not better. If this counted as stealing, we would only have 5 designers in the world, lol.
MEGAN THEE STALLION'S RESPONSE
While on The Morning Hustle Show ("Black Media"), Megan did address the controversy. She says people will say they spoke to her team but won't tell her who they talked to. She said, "I feel bad that people's initial reactions is to just come at me like "Black woman stealing from Black women." Megan also says she would have no problem apologizing and "checking" her stylist if the claims are valid.
WHAT TEAM?
Megan brought up an excellent point about people claiming they contacted her team, but won't say who on her team. For all we know, these designers are contacting someone who is struggling to stay on Megan's team and needs a good idea, and BOOM!...you handed it to them.
Who did these people contact...EJ? If there is a paper trail, then you can have a better case to argue. But, sending an email to team@gmail.com is not it. Also, we know that Fashion Nova ain't shit, but that can't be the only "evidence" you have of theft. Clothing has looked similar or like a direct copy for ages. Look at blue jeans.
At this point, with how the girls are connected to their fans, it's probably better to go through fans than to play the email game.

I'm almost positive I had that same jean jacket in middle school, so I know that designer is full of shit. As for that dress, Rainbow been selling them, so that other lady is full of shit too. There's no design under the sun that hasn't been done before, they're just mad that theirs isn't selling out like Megan's.
Megan is the new Nicki Minaj of female rap hate. It doesn't matter what she does, people will have an issue with it. Some are complaining about her diss track like she wasn't within her right to respond to Tory releasing an entire album. I will never get it with all this cattiness.
