"The whole album was basically written in the living room, the shower, the backyard..."
The Princess of Rap, Megan Thee Stallion, is featured in the latest issue of NME Magazine. The writer, Natty Kasambala, wrote a full, in-depth, interesting article on Megan. Anyone who read stories on female rappers should know how rare this is. Most features on women in Hip Hop provide no interesting/new information about the artist, or the writer does a piece pitting women against each other. I definitely recommend everyone to read this article HERE
HIGHLIGHTS
DEBUT ALBUM...
"I was already gonna lock myself up! I knew I had that goal and I was going to finish it.” Megan revealed her debut album is DONE!!!! She won't reveal much else, including the name of the album. Megan told the writer that if she revealed the name of the album, it would reveal the new persona.
I'm excited and I wonder how many personas Megan will create???
"I’m one of the artists in this generation that you are gonna remember, and that you’re going to be talking about to your kids. I’m just excited to be a part of a generation where people are going to be looking up to us one day.”
MANIFESTATION
“I’m just so grateful because I remember being young and watching the BET Awards and just being like, ‘I’mma do that one day – that’s gon’ be me’. And for me? To have spoken that? Onto myself? I was like,‘Giiiirl – go Meg!’.” I love that Megan is speaking on manifesting her success. The writer wrote that Megan creates "musical manifestations of power and strength."
“I already feel like I’m the shit so if you say otherwise, you crazy ’cause my momma said I was beautiful!"
CONFIDENCE
“I had really good examples of women in my life and they always put it in like, ‘Megan, you’re amazing… You’re doing so good’. That came from my father too."
I wish more parents would instill confidence in their kids instead of fear.
VISION FOR HOT GIRL SH*T
“A whole big ole brand, whole big ole company – it’s gonna be worldwide, okay? I really want it to be just a plethora of things.” She sounds giddy at the possibilities: “I’m really working on my dynasty right now.”
We know to the dismay of some haters, Megan does have trademarks, yes that's a plural. She will be a mogul and I love that she is doing business while keeping the music first. Others could learn from this.

I love it when the girls support each other.
