FLASHBACK FRIDAY: PRETTY GIRL GANG REJECT
I found one of my old posts where Youtuber, LivewLiyah, explained why she hated Nicki Minaj. Well, she probably would say "hate" is too strong of a word, but she definitely is was riding the Nicki Minaj hate train. Liyah, while reporting on celebrity news and gossip, would often find a way to speak on Nick negatively and make sure to repeat any receipt-less information being spread that day. It didn't help that she was interning with The Breakfast Club, and Angela Yee was her mentor.
Liyah, who considered herself to be unbias and a "high vibrational" thinker, was often called out for the way she reported on Nicki Minaj and even called "anti-Black" by not only viewers but some peers. So, Liyah did what very few YouTubers do, which is self-examined her behavior. She concluded that she was, in fact, bias toward Nicki Minaj and that her dislike of Nicki wasn't about anything that she did, but stemmed from high school experiences.
Liyah revealed while in school, the Black girls, who were Nicki Minaj fans, would pick on her and say, "Bitch, you're not in no pretty girl gang. Why is your hair always in braids? Don't you want to wear a weave, and this that and third? You need to grow up." After really analyzing her past experiences, she realized that due to her bad experiences with other Black girls, she unfairly correlated their actions with Nicki Minaj. Listen below...
After she did this video, I started referring to some people as "Liyahs" because some people's hatred toward Nicki comes off too personal. You don't have to like Nicki, but some people act like Nicki hurt them as children.
