Quickie: Roc Nation Works Harder...

The devil works hard, but Roc Nation works harder

Yesterday I tweeted about Megan Thee Stallion's history-making SI cover. As usual, when I post anything about Megan, the jealousy drips onto my mentions by way of snarky-ass remarks. A comment that I see often is Blah, Blah, Blah but "Roc Nation works harder."

I know this is supposed to be a dig, but in reality, all you are saying is that Roc Nation is EARNING their percentage. Managers are supposed to put their clients in the best position to grow their brand and promote their music. So, yes, Roc Nation does work harder, and so should all other managers.

Let's look at Nicki Minaj, who I use as an example only because it was a Nicki fan who leaped into my mentions. Nicki Minaj is suddenly getting lots of favorable write-ups, and her remix with Bia is getting a proper push. If you don't think that is because there is a "WHOLE LOTTA IRVING IN THIS MUTHFCKA," I gotta bridge to sell you. Now, I'm not saying anything underhanded going on, I'm saying finally she has management, who understands the assignment. Let's not forget that Nicki's old management team sent her to China for a fake show, fed information to the Opps, and allowed there to be constant problems with her overseas tour. They were so bad that people questioned if she even had management. That management got outworked by the devil. I suspect they were trying to get fired, which is why they were blatantly incompetent, but that's another topic.

The point is that smart artists don't pay managers to not make money moves. So all this talk about Roc Nation is doing this and Roc Nation is doing that, outside of the framing Tory Lanez BS, yes they are....and???? So are other managers of successful artists.

It’s definitely jealously because they thought Megan’s career was over. I mean, these are the same people that believe TSR hate comments towards Megan represent the gp. But then Thot Shit dropped and they got a rude awakening 🤣But the “RN work hard” comments will only help RN because I’m sure up incoming female rappers/artists are inspired by Meg’s come up. I see more female rappers signing to RN. They’ve done a great job so far!

Everyone thinks blog comments represent GP when they are good for their fave, LOL. But, when I was on IG, all I heard was how toxic TSR was. I was scared to go to that page.

RN will continue to get clients, just like all managers who do their jobs.
