In an interview with Vulture Magazine, Saweetie was put on the spot when she was asked why does she keep working with controversial music producer Dr. Luke, who singer Kesha has accused of sexual assault. He is the man behind her hit songs, "Tap In" and "Best Friend," featuring Doja Cat, who is signed to his label Kemosabe Records.
Saweetie clarified that when she first worked with Dr. Luke, she was unaware of the allegations and that she had signed a bundle deal with him. So, she had a choice to make. Does she keep the songs in the vault or release them?
When asked if she would work with him again outside of the deal, Saweetie answered, "What do you think?" When pushed, she responded, "I think you have a good sense of my character by now."
I don't know why she just couldn't say "No." That response makes me question her character. But, on the other hand, I get it. The music industry is filled with a bunch of questionable men with problematic behaviors. There is no way to avoid working with these men.
