In the latest issue of i-D Magazine, digital cover girl Teyana Taylor opened up about her new album, The Album, growing up in Harlem, and life as a wife and mother.
Teyana said she had to grow up really, really fast, and sacrifice her social life after being signed to Pharrell's Star Trak Entertainment at 15 years old. We all remember her from MTV's My Sweet Sixteen. I watched that episode over and over and over...LOL.
When talking about her 2018 album K.T.S.E., she explained that when she first came out, she was a virgin and thought boys were "yucky." "I went from a "girl to a woman, to a mom, to a wife." She says she sings off emotion, and that is why her songs are about something she is currently going through or been through before.
Teyana finally started seeing the success she has been working for when she began trusting herself before trusting other people. That shows with her success as a director, her new cosmetic deal with M.A.C., and her new album "The Album."
