What Will Doja Cat's First-Week Sales Of Planet Her Look Like? Updated With Sale Projections

Doja Cat is dropping her highly-anticipated album, Planet Her, this coming Friday. While there is an ongoing debate on whether she is a rapper who can do Pop or a Pop artist who can rap; there is no denying she is talented.

Vulture Magazine gave the album a favorable review, but calling it "the logical conclusion to what Pink Friday first attempted" may be setting up the project for undue scrutiny. Anyways, the singles "Kiss Me More" and "Need To Know" are doing good on the charts, plus she plans to release her song with The Weeknd on Friday too.

I have noticed that there has not been much first-week album prediction/expectations being posted. One person back in May predicted 90K-125K (25-30K pure sales).

I want to know what are y'all predictions/expectations for this album?

I think with The Weeknd song and her other songs still moving, she should easily get over 100K. I wouldn't even be shocked at 200K to be honest, just because she does have the Pop fans.

UPDATED: 6/26

HITS Daily has released the sales projections of Tyler, The Creator, and Doja Cat's new project. Tyler will have the #1 album with around 175K first-week sales. While Doja Cat will be battling for the #2 spot with around 100K sales.

I was way off thinking she could possibly do 200K. I was thinking this album was going to be better than Hot Pink and really have that "diversity" everyone has spoken about. This album was a regular Pop album. It wasn't Pink Friday and it wasn't Thank You, Next. I'm not saying the album had to be either, but she is pushed as that Pop girl who can rap as good as the rap girls. I knew she was going Pop, but I thought it would be more creative and interesting. When she borrowed Coi Leray's flow, I knew something was up.

Now, at least I know my sales guess was just that...a guess. There was really no sales data for me to go off on for this album. I remember a time when the bar was moved for Megan, just so people could call her album, with a Grammy-winning song, a flop. First, it was she needed to do 100K, then when it became clear she was going to do that, Akademiks pushed the bar to the ridiculous 150K based on hype. A lot of Meg haters/ Doja lovers used the hype argument to justify their bullshit.

Doja Cat gets a lot of hype...so how do y'all feel about these projected sales??? As a reminder, these are projections, not final numbers.
