I remember a time when artists would drop an album, fans buy it, and then we find out the total at the end of the week. Now, with singles contributing to album sales and all these streams, it's too much of a math problem for me to figure out, LOL.
So, I need the Billboard experts to assist me. This tweet by a Saweetie fan suggests that if RIAA updates are done by the time she drops her debut album, due to songs like "Best Friend," Saweetie could see sales of over 300K😳. Now, I am not sure if that can be counted in first-week sales totals, but if it is, then that would be the new record for a female rap album until Cardi B drops. If not, then she will go gold quickly.
Saweetie is with Warner, and they know how to play the numbers/RIAA game. Do y'all think that is why Saweetie is having this extended rollout for an album that should have dropped already? Is she just waiting for the certifications to come in so that the sales look really good?

It won’t count towards her 1st week sales. And from the way things have been going for Saweetie, I don’t think it’s smart to drop an album right now. Every song after “Best Friend” flopped. Its like everything went downhill after she left Quavo. Her relationship with Quavo appears to be the main reason why she was selling.
I think there is a cutoff period to what could be counted for the album because it would be way to easy for artist and record companies to manipulate the numbers to make their artist look better than they really are!!!! You could cheat by having a song from years ago rack up numbers then placed on the album. But regardless I love me some Saweetie she might not be the best lyrically, but she make fun music that is catchy (I can't get Locomotion we causing a Commotion out of my head till this day), she is clearly a hustler by birth the way she markets herself and she is unproblematic.
