Above is a snippet from the Joe Budden interview with Nicki Minaj where she is talking about artists hopping on trends and becoming faceless. It's an interesting topic considering the talks throughout her career have been about how she nibbled off others, and even now, some feel she is jumping on trends that she previously spoke out against. I wonder if that gets addressed.
I am hearing you have to pay to watch this interview, so don't expect a full review from me because I don't pay for Joe Budden anything.
Say Sumthin, Tap The Heart, Share...Thanks!
Why is MTS being brought up? That was certainly not the first person that came to mind when I watched this. Y’all are insane seriously
Why do people feel like she's only talking about females? This applies to males as well, but I digress. This goes back to my article I did on why do female rappers feel they have to make pop music to be successful. I used Latto as an example, because we're never going to see her label push one of her Rap songs like they are with Big Energy. I bet my 401k on that. When you look at Latto nothing about her scream "pop". Roddy Rich came with that trendy melodic sound in 2019 now he can't even sell 70k on his follow up album. Granted I never listened to his old shit, but it probably didn't sound like him…
A certain female rapper will most likely come up in this conversation.
What I get from what you say it’s that you resume her career at jumping on trends ? So her career is not about her talent anymore ??? And her ability to revive female rap and elevate the shit and make it bigger ??? What trends has she hopped on? Being asked to do features is a natural occurrence in hip hop and her versatility make her and others unique on this rap shit…
why would NickI celebrate billboard after all the weird and corrupted shìt they have done to her make it make sense 🥴
