MISOGYNY, SEXISM, SEXUAL HARASSMENT IS BAKED INTO THE HIP HOP CULTURE
CHARACTER WITNESS???
Yesterday, DJ Akademiks decided to play character witness for Tory Lanez by tweeting out, "The stories I'm hearing doesn't represent the person I know or the character I've seen him display, especially around women." First of all, recently, there have been allegations of abuse by one of Akademiks' ex-girlfriends, and he just got off "suspension" for verbally abusing another woman. So, would he even be able to identify abusive or inappropriate behavior around women? Second, there are too many stories about Tory Lanez's behavior with women, which is why people don't find it hard to believe. The disbelief part is that Megan Thee Stallion is involved, not that Tory is engaged in a violent incident.
Well, it appears that rising R&B star, Kaash Paige, rolled her eyes as hard as I did after reading DJ Akademiks tweet. She replied, "I've worked with Tory, and he for sure doesn't respect women but okay lol. Can't say I was there and know what happened, but I know for a fact the hidden agendas." What makes this more interesting is that according to Billboard Kaash is signed to Tory's One Umbrella imprint for management, along with Melii. So, he got one of his clients even giving him the side-eye. You know this caught my attention. I want to know about those "hidden agendas."
For a new female artist to speak out publicly against an established artist, it takes some ovaries. You have women who have blood in their mouths because they have been biting their tongues for years. Is this a sign that things are shifting within Hip Hop/R&B culture? Will the "Pick-Me" bitches no longer be allowed to run around unopposed. Are Male artists/executives going to be held accountable by their peers and fans? Is this the end of men in the media who have abuse allegations of their own, being allowed to create narratives that protect abusers? We will see, but y'all know where I stand.
2017 ALLEGATIONS
In 2017, one of Tory Lanez's ex-girlfriends, who at the time worked at Revolt, accused him of physical, verbal, and emotional abuse for over 9 months. She claimed that he told her, "If I can't have you, no other nigga can." That is when she decided to speak out because she felt her life was at risk. She claims she did get the cops involved. At this point, I do not know the outcome of this situation, so these are still only allegations.

Tory has Akademiks as a character witness, while Megan has probably several women who will tell similar stories. At this time Daystar Peterson AKA Tory Lanez has not been charged for the shooting so he is presumed innocent..blah, blah, blah.
Comment, Like, Share...Thanks!
I was thinking Tory is now an independent artist. He has no major label who has a vested interest in seeing him survive this mess. He's on his own. I doubt deal he has for his Quaratine Radio will help.
@latanya_del27 thank you 🙏🏽 this is what I was talking about yesterday n The Who shot Megan post. Why do we have to wait around for men to speak up and protect us when we can do it ourselves. We are many and our voices are loud, women are the one’s that buy there music purchases their concert tickets if we stop and stand up changes will need to be made. We just have to get the “pick me” bitches on board
Y’all need to stop looking to niggas like Joe Budden for clarity on anything, he is a propagandist, drama and false narratives is what he lives for. As for Tory Lanez he has anger issues, so this Megan situation is not too far from the truth.
I agree. Question? I seen you posted about Ebony from SOTC getting her own show or podcast. Do you have an update on that? I really like her
Kim, Joe Budden has a history of abuse. I addressed men in the media with a history of abuse controlling narratives. The JBP was doing what they always do. I wouldn't expect anything different and really don't need them to be different. We need people to promote females in the media and stop begging men to get it.
