Elon Musk unites the Lords and Peasants of Twitter by allowing people to get a white checkmark for the low-low price of $8/month. Are y'all paying?
I think people have been paying for verifications, but now that it is out in the open, I feel that Elon has devalued the blue checkmark that was once highly coveted. I also believe this will cause chaos when those copycat accounts pay for a checkmark and fool people into thinking crazy tweets are from celebrities. Those popular accounts that are not verified have copycat accounts fooling people daily. I just block them so I won't get fooled cause they look so authentic.
