Nicki Minaj And Lil Baby Drop "Do We Have A Problem?" And I Want To Know, Do They? (Updated)

Nicki Minaj dropped her comeback single "Do We Have A Problem?" featuring QC artist Lil Baby. The song is accompanied by a 9-minute music video inspired by an Angelina Jolie film called "Salt." Nicki shows off her acting skills, and I guess Lil Baby was acting.

Nicki also treats fans to a preview of another song she did with Lil Baby, Bussin, at the end of the music video.

Let me know if you think this song is hot or a flop!

MY SONG & VIDEO REVIEW

OK, I was going to drop my review of the song tomorrow; however, it was quickly becoming a think piece, LOL. So, I decided I could save all those thoughts for later, and below are my brief thoughts on "Do We Have A Problem?"

SONG

1- I'm Hooked

The best part of the song is the hook where Nicki sings,

"Tell'em my Nina my bitch she a rider, I got a shooter right now got a driver, They want that heat I'm the only provider, Little bad foreign bitch word to Fivo, Niggas know the vibes that's worth a five, yo, Beef we bout to resolve, yo, Pull up on an opp, do we have a problem?"

It's catchy, and it's something I find myself humming.

2 - Where My Boys At?

Nicki has totally given up on the girls and is making a play for the straight male fanbase. This song sounds like the same songs the male rappers are putting out, even down to the same flow. Men who often feel "gay" or uncomfortable listening to female rap shouldn't find that problem with this song unless they just don't like Nicki.

3- Where Are The Quotables?

Nicki may have switched her flows; however, didn't say shit in any one of them. Caresha at least gave us "Buenas Noches." That outback line she seems so proud of is corny to me. She is not giving me anything that makes me feel like a "bad bitch" or relatable. I am really not into Nicki pretending to be the Black Griselda Blanco. But, as I said in point #2, it's the play for the straight male audience.

4 - Lil Baby Washed Who?

Nicki set Lil Baby up...LMAO!

Overall: The song is not trash, but it's also not as different or bringing back "real rap" as some would have you believe. It's a song that follows a familiar formula that works for the charts.

MUSIC VIDEO

I always wondered why Nicki didn't utilize her acting skills by doing more long-form music videos. So, I am happy that she went in this direction; however, you can tell she is a Lil rusty when it comes to her acting. There were parts of the video that were funny, but I don't think it was meant to be funny. Nicki did not scare anyone with those guns, Bwahahahaha!!!

Poor Lil Baby... at least he got paid.

Oh, who is dressing Nicki cause that person needs to be fired. If the goal was to make her look unflattering and to highlight just how short she is...you did your fck'n job! I don't get why it's so hard for Nicki to find a good stylist. The green dress looked like it had butt pads, and that black matrix outfit, where she pulled out the guns, was too similar to the Poke It Out costume she wore for SNL.

Even with the flaws, I still think Nicki should stick with these types of music videos.

Say Sumthin, Tap The Heart, Share...Thanks!

She did an interview with Zane Lowe today and she said verbatim when she heard the song it sounded like a Lil Baby track. She wanted that melodic kind of thing that the rappers are doing.

My favorite line was

"Niggas'll will son (sun) your whole set like its a round 6

Clips, whole team get flyer than round trips"

Lil Baby played on the Chanel shopping spree he gave Saweetie.

"Next year Chanel, I put her in that new print. It is what it is, i can't make no excuses

I hit the whole group, do that make me a groupie?"

Overall I like it. Yeah Baby didn't wash her.

I like the song a bit, like you said it’s not trash but it’s just regular. This sound like a lil baby record more than a Nicki record, but just by listening to it she hasn’t fully came out of her writers block. As for the music video I liked it and it I think she should stick to trying to utilize her acting background more like she did in the beginning of her career but it’s been long so it will take some time readjusting. With that being said am interested in seeing how to documentary and album turn out.

I like the song. the visuals gave, lil baby slid, the hook was actually catchy lol, seems like the GP is enjoying it from what I’ve seen. there are mix reactions but that’s normal. usually for Nicki ppl do Bash her songs but this one reminds me of the reception seeing green received and that is good. A+ for a iconic comeback.. and she didn’t have to talk about her pussy or sale sex to do it. Praise god!
