Artist: Saucy Santana Song: Meet Me In Da Skreets Released: Nov. 10th
When DJ Akademiks and Saucy Santana's feud started, who could have predicted it would end with Santana on top—no pun intended—after verbally embarrassing AK so badly that he brought the media personality and known chipmunk to tears?
Well, Saucy Santana isn't letting up and proves that his gift of gab extends beyond social media with the drop of 'Meet Me In Da Skreets,' a biting 3-minute diss track dragging Akademiks from one Heeeadquarters to another.
"Meet Me In Da Skreets" accomplishes what every great diss track should: turning your target into a joke. While fans may struggle to recall specific lines from "Back To Back," everyone remembers when Drake asked Meek, "Is that a world tour or your girl's tour?"
The line replaying in my head from Saucy Santana's track is, "Oh, I get it, you wanna be a City Girl / Nah,
really, you wanna be in Diddy world." This line tickles me because I see DJ Akademiks as a straight-up groupie hiding behind being a podcaster.
However, Saucy Santana reserves his most scathing lines to needle DJ Akademiks about his insecurities regarding beefing with a gay rapper. In the first verse, Santana addresses Akademiks' claims that he can't respond the way he wants due to fear of cancellation, rapping, "You gettin' punked by a gay dude / You a bitch tryna blame it on some gay rules." Saucy Santana continued to poke at Akademiks' insecurities or, let's be honest, homophobia throughout the track, making Akademiks look as goofy as he did when shedding tears on Rumble.
Overall, I really like this track, and I believe it has shown Saucy Santana in a new light to many hip-hop fans. "Meet Me In Da Skreets" has already been added to my playlist.
