Angelica Nwandu, the owner of the popular but often controversial The Shade Room, spoke with Keyshia
Cole on her Fox Soul show One On One w/ Keyshia Cole. Angelica spoke on her early life as a first-generation Nigerian American, her mother being killed during a domestic violence incident with her father, being placed in the Foster care system at the age of six, and The Shade Room.
Angelica Nwandu said The Shade Room was an accident. TSR was supposed to be a side hustle, but after the first week it just started "popping off." As a 23-year-old, she did not know what she was doing, but now she often questions it. She said she understands why some people hate it, but she also feels people don't see the beauty in The Shade Room. The beauty is that it's a whole group of Black people meeting together and talking about things.

Keyshia Cole pushed back at Angelica by asking if The Shade Room breaks up families and destroys platforms for artists. Angelica admitted that over the years, she had to ask herself those questions. However, she said that TSR posts what people do. They don't break into people's e-mails; the sh*t they post is all public.
Angelica did address the drama with Ari Fletcher, where Ari did make threats after TSR reposted one of her posts. Angelica said that her readers were speculating about what Ari was talking about, and that is natural. She asked Keyshia, "How much accountability do they (artists) have for their actions." Angelica feels that if you post it, then you should be OK with it being anywhere online.

Angelica added that for years she did not understand why people cared what others say about them until she was posted by "people with millions and millions" of followers. I think we can all guess who "people" are...LOL. It's funny because Angelica said that "God don't play about me." I hope God don't play about her the way he don't play about Ole Girl...YIKES!
Angelica being the boss lady that she turned the tables on Keyshia and got some exclusive information.
She asked Keyshia why won't she do a song with OT Genasis. Keyshia admitted that OT Genasis did reach out and tod her that things went too far. Keyshia admitted that maybe she takes things too seriously.
I think Keyshia Cole took things the way they were. A man crossed the line, and she acted accordingly; however, when someone makes a sincere apology, then I do feel people should move on.
Overall, I feel this is a great interview. I personally don't fck with The Shade Room, because I have encountered too many people who have bad energy after going there. But, I do love that a Black woman created something from scratch that has such a huge impact on the culture. It's motivational.
FUN FACT: Angelica said that on average her "roommates" check TSR 30 times a day.

In my opinion, TSR is messy as fuck. I understand that it's entertainment news, but the way they choose to report stories is what I don't like.
@annahill, WOW...they be posting kids to get dragged? I kinda liked Angelica on this interview but sorta felt she justified being messy.
@Fck Yaya She been told them it stop posting her but they still doing it. They post things that they know will get anybody dragged! And I really hate when they post kids that ppl on the comments be saying hateful stuff about them.

She’s full of shit! They purposely post stuff to get ppl dragged n they know what they post brings traffic n hatred from other ppl! N I’m just going to say it; they post things about Nicki that they know will get her dragged in the comments. They didn’t even post for the culture pic of Nicki n Doja like TheNeighorhoodTalk n ItsOnSite did!
