According to Chart Data, Billboard has introduced a new rule, effective immediately, where only 1 digital sale will be counted per customer per week for songs and albums. Bulk purchases of 2 or more will not count. Oh lawwwwd...LOL.
Now, for the girls whose fans know how to stream, this will not be a big deal, but for those STANbases, who have been saving money for 4 years so they can manipulate pure sales, they better start taking streaming classes.
No bundles, No bulk buying, Radio play still counts too much for chart placement...2022 will be tough for Hip Hop artists.

It’s the Information Age now. I mean the way people listen to music has changed so of course the rules are going to change. It will only be so many times you can stream a track per day and per ip address.

The “stanbase” who will take the biggest hit & this new rule is because of BTS ARMY. Billboard didn’t like how BTS kept dominating with pure sales point blank period. There is a loophole around this tho, every fan can still buy 1 digital song/album on different platforms. Ultimately tho we’re about to see a lot of artists releasing Vinyls alongside theirs albums & singles, cuz I believe they count as 4 sales. only thing is, they take about 6 months to make.
