Kanye West is currently airing out his contract issues with Universal and Sony on Twitter. It's actually very eye-opening for those interested in the "business" side of the music business. Legend music producer, Hit-Boy, who most recently produced Big Sean's "Detroit 2" album revealed, that he stopped being a fan of Ye after Kanye told him that he stopped picking his beat because he worked with Beyonce👀. However, he did go on to say that he totally agrees with what Kanye is posting in regards to Universal.
Hit-Boy explained how the last 3 lawyers he hired called his publishing deal with Universal, "Worst publishing contract they've ever seen." He said if he has to be the one to get blackballed for telling the truth, then so be it.
Here are some other tweets by Kanye...
SIDE NOTE:
These are the conversations I had hoped would have started on the female side of Hip Hop considering people had so much to say about bad contracts when it was about a female rapper. Also, it seems artists/producers seem very comfortable with speaking on blackballing. When men are speaking on these topics, they are not including women. We need a woman to lead these discussions for the girls, and y'all know who I want.
