1501 Entertainment Approaching Insolvency?: Megan Thee Stallion's Battle for Control

In the latest court filings, Megan is requesting to add Carl Crawford as a defendant, separate from his label. This motion is a result of Megan finding out that Carl had depleted the record label's bank accounts, which should have been maintained to settle outstanding liabilities, including royalties allegedly due to Megan. Instead, Crawford paid himself and 1501's consultants Gee Roberson and J Prince, leaving the label with less than $10,000 in the principal bank account. This was all done against the advice from 1501

As Megan Thee Stallion gets closer to her #MEGXIT from 1501 Entertainment, the lengths to which Carl Crawford will go to destroy Megan's career are becoming more evident. However, Meg and her legal team are not backing down and have gone on the offensive, exposing all the clown shit she is facing for simply wanting a fair contract and control over her music career.

1501 ENTERTAINMENT - THE TITANIC

In the latest court filings, Megan is requesting to add Carl Crawford as a defendant, separate from his label. This motion is a result of Megan finding out that Carl had depleted the record label's bank accounts, which should have been maintained to settle outstanding liabilities, including royalties allegedly due to Megan. Instead, Crawford paid himself and 1501's consultants Gee Roberson and J Prince, leaving the label with less than $10,000 in the principal bank account. This was all done against the advice from 1501

Entertainment's business manager Beth Sabbagh.

If Megan Thee Stallion's lawsuit were to stay solely against 1501 Entertainment and Carl Crawford is allowed to continue to siphon money out of the company, she might as well be suing me. However, this new motion will enable her to win against Carl Crawford as an individual and potentially recover the money he gave himself. This issue is scheduled to be heard on Monday, May 1, 2023, at 8:00 AM.

In addition, Megan Thee Stallion is asking the court to appoint a receiver to take possession of 1501 or all bank accounts until this dispute is resolved. So, in other words, Megan wants the court to order someone to babysit Carl Crawford so he doesn't keep vacuuming money out of the label. The hearing for this motion will be heard on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at 9:00 AM.

"SFTH" & "TRAUMAZINE"

As we have repeatedly seen, the female rap world is highly competitive. Female rappers can blow up out of nowhere and become overnight sensations. However, what happens when a female rapper is stuck on a label with no money, infrastructure for success, and a vendetta?

That is exactly what Carl Crawford wants Megan Thee Stallion to find out.

Carl is trying to chain Megan to this sinking ship of a label by not only disputing that "Something For The Hotties" is an album but "Traumazine" too.

How Sway?

In a second amended complaint, Megan Thee Stallion is seeking for the judge to constitute both projects as albums.

EXPLOIT ME, PLEASE

So, while Carl Crawford is allegedly draining 1501 of money and blocking Megan from signing to a new label, he is also trying to prevent Megan Thee Stallion from making money off her music. According to court documents, 1501 has been actively preventing Megan from using, licensing, exploiting, and publishing her music since the fall of 2022 in retaliation for her lawsuit. This is a clear violation of their

deal, which allows Megan to use her music as long as the request is on reasonable commercial terms.

To make matters worse, 1501 has denied multiple important requests to use Megan's music, including requests from HBO and Starz to use her songs in their television series, as well as an attempt to block the use of her music for promotional content leading up to the American Music Awards, where she was nominated for Favorite Female Hip-Hop Artist of the Year. Megan claims these actions have injured her music and career at least three separate times.

Moreover, during a deposition, Gee Roberson, a consultant of 1501, admitted that even if a licensing request would generate millions of dollars, the label would still object. This clearly indicates that 1501 is not acting in Megan's best interest and is actively working to stunt her success.

This is clearly a 3 prong attack on Megan Thee Stallion's career:

1 - Sink the Label

2 - Force Megan To Stay With Sinking Label

3 - Prevent Megan From Making Money While Stuck On 1501 and Dragging Out Lawsuit

But, it seems Carl Crawford is giving Megan all she needs to sing his battleship.

#MEGXIT BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY

Speak, Heart, Share...Thanks!
